Fully Funded: RFLD Training Program for Journalists in West and Central Africa

The West and Central Africa Regional Journalists Training on Reporting and Engaging with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights and the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders is a pivotal activity aimed at enhancing the capacity of journalists in the region to report effectively on human rights issues and engage with key stakeholders.

This training program is fully funded by Réseau des Femmes Leaders pour le Développement (RFLD), to empower journalists to cover human rights topics accurately, promote transparency, and advocate for the protection of human rights defenders in West Africa.

This activity is organized with the support of the CHARM Africa Project.

CHARM AFRICA is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). Consortium Members are composed of CIVICUS,  Réseau des Femmes Leaders pour le Développement (RFLD), Civil Rights Defenders, Defend Defenders, Fojo Media Institute, The Wits Centre for Journalism, and Magamba Network.

CHARM Africa Consortium engages with civil society and the media supporting human rights defenders, their organizations and journalists, particularly those representing groups with the most limited access to resources and opportunities in their particular contexts (such as women, youth, minority groups, people living with disabilities, racial and ethnic minority groups, indigenous populations, among others).
