Rule of Law, Justice, and Constitutionalism
We collaborate with regional bodies to ensure that all persons, entities, and state institutions adhere to laws consistent with regional frameworks and protocols and that the laws are independently adjudicated and apply to all equally.
At the state level, we work to secure and increase the integrity and credibility of institutions and processes of democratic representation and accountability.
Our work on the Rule of Law and Constitutionalism seeks to:
- monitor compliance and enforcement of regional frameworks, protocols, and national laws.
- ensure adherence to the principles of supremacy of national laws consistent with regional protocols to ensure equal access to justice for all
- strengthen relevant national institutions through capacity building at all levels to promote peaceful, just, and inclusive societies in ensuring sustainable development
- develop strategic plans and programs for justice reform and service delivery in our respective countries to instill public confidence
