The Citizen’s Alliance for the Transition in Guinea (L’ACT), a coalition of civil society organizations and pro-democracy actors, has met with the country’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Mory Conde (in white). The meeting follows recent clashes and heightened tension in the country.
The issues discussed include the need to establish an inclusive dialogue between the anti-junta coalition and the ruling military junta; the quality of governance of the ruling military junta, the National Committee of Reconciliation and Development (CRND); the need for respect of procedures and the presumption of innocence in legal cases (with the Economic and Financial Offenses Repression Court – CRIEF); the recovery of state domains; and timelines/schedule for the transition.
