Democracy in West Africa has regressed, in recent years, requiring pro-democracy actors to interrogate the causes and take prompt actions. “The Democracy Project,” led by John Osae-Kwapong, presents findings and recommendations from their inquisition of democratic governance in the sub-region, with Ghana as the pilot study.
Funded by WADEMOS Network, Dr. Osae-Kwapong’s ‘The Democracy Project’ uses Afrobarometer data to create democracy risk profiles for African countries in the sub-region. These profiles help gauge which democracies are at risk of regression and which aspects of their democracy are vulnerable.
