The West Africa Democracy Solidarity Network embarked on pre-election and election-day missions to Senegal ahead of its presidential election. The purpose of WADEMOS’ interventions for the 2024 Senegal election was to mobilize sub-regional support and interest in the electoral process.
The just-ended election was considered a groundbreaking one, as it was the first time in the history of the country that an incumbent president opted not to seek re-election after serving two terms. The March 24, 2024, election was a litmus test of the rule of law in a region marred by instability and coups.
